SharePoint Excel files not opening
If an Excel file wont open directly from SharePoint follow these instructions:
Uncheck the setting – “Use Office 2016 to sync Office files that I open” (right clicked on the one-drive icon in taskbar-->settings)
Check if the same behavior is occurring in the Microsoft Upload Center Settings, “Delete files from the Office Document Cache when they are closed” (Start menu, search for Upload Center and open it. On the top left side you will find the Settings button and it will open the window). Click "Delete cached files” button first and then tick on the option and leave it like that, and try working with an Excel file again.
Next check the Access the local Credential Manager – go to Start Menu, search for Credential Manager and from there take each entry with Office16 one by one and remove them – we will not be losing information, but cached credentials – we are hoping to eliminate any expired tokens that we might still try to use in the local application.
Then finally Make sure you clear the browser cookies as well – Internet Explorer Settings>Internet Options>Browsing history – push the delete button
